House Approves $4.2 Billion in Aid Sought by Louisiana - New York Times
Sounds like good news, yes?
Two points I wish to emphasize:
1. conservative Republicans in the House tried to eliminate ALL of the hurricane spending from this bill, but were defeated eventually.
2. There is not enough money in this bill to rebuild the New Orleans levees. The House defeated an amendment which would have provided enough money to rebuild.
Cricket deserved better.
